Introduction of Screw Conveyor:
The screw conveyor is a kind of machine that uses the motor to drive the screw to rotate and push the material to achieve the purpose of conveying. It can be conveyed horizontally, inclined or vertically. In terms of conveying form, it is divided into two types: shaft screw conveyor and shaftless screw conveyor, and in appearance, it is divided into U-shaped screw conveyor and tubular screw conveyor. The shafted screw conveyor is suitable for non-viscous dry powder materials and small particle materials (such as: cement, fly ash, lime, grain, etc.), while the shaftless screw conveyor is suitable for conveying viscous and easily entangled materials. (eg: sludge, biomass, garbage, etc.).
Structure of Screw Conveyor:
The screw conveyor is mainly composed of a driving device, a casing, a cover plate, a screw shaft, a screw blade, a material inlet, and a material outlet.
1. Driving device. The driving device of the screw conveyor includes three parts: motor, reducer and coupling. The motor is responsible for driving, the reducer prevents the screw shaft from rotating too fast and the conveyor is damaged, and the coupling is responsible for transmitting power to the screw shaft. .
2. Spiral blades. Spiral blades can be mainly divided into three types: solid helicoid, belt helicoid and paddle helicoid. Solid helicoid: simple structure, strong conveying capacity, suitable for conveying scattered, dry granular or powdery materials, it is the most widely used blade type. Belt-type spiral surface: the spiral pitch is the same as the diameter of the spiral blade, suitable for conveying powdery and small pieces of materials. Paddle-type helical surface: mainly used to transport viscous and compressible materials. This kind of helical blade has and completes the functions of stirring and mixing materials during the transportation process.
3. The casing can be divided into "U"-shaped casing and circular casing. The circular casing is mainly used for feeding the sealing equipment. The screw conveyor of the U-shaped casing is recommended to convey the material horizontally (the casing is not seal).
The screw shaft is made of hollow steel pipe, and a small section of solid shaft is used at the shaft-to-shaft connection and where the bearing is installed. The solid shaft has a smaller diameter and can be inserted into the hollow steel pipe for connection. If the material is easy to entangle, you can choose a shaftless conveyor.
Working principle of Screw Conveyor:
When the screw shaft rotates, due to the gravity of the material and the friction generated by the wall of the trough, the material can only move forward along the bottom of the trough of the conveyor under the push of the blades. It is the same as the translational movement of the rotating screw. The main driving force of the material is from the force of the helical blade to push the material upward and forward along the tangential direction of the blade when the helical blade rotates in the axial direction.
